Trading Hours Tips and Tricks

During the Tokyo session, which is when the market begins it’s day, you’ll notice that trading and movement are slow, with not much happening. When the London market opens, you’ll see volatility increase as that’s when most of the trading activity begins.

When the markets have opened, you’ll be able to start trading. This can be either opening new trades, closing existing ones or modifying trades after they have been executed. Outside of those trading hours, your trading is very limited.

With Forex, for example, trading happens 24 hours a day, 5 days a week, only being closed on the weekends (Saturday and Sunday). The only markets that open 24/7/365 would be the Cryptocurrency market. You’ll be able to trade cryptocurrencies at anytime you want.

Be Careful of fluctuations in the market, these tend to be the highest when two time zones are overlapping or when a timezone is closing. Fluctuations are usually seen when spreads widen and cause higher volatility.
